From an Angel- Gabriel J. Colon Diaz

My name is a name of an angel of the sky. Some people call me Gaby because is easier or cute for them. For me doesn't matter because I like my name. My complete name is Gabriel Junian Colon Diaz. The story behind my name is that when I was born, I was diagnosed with a kidney disease. This was a very difficult time for me. My body was trying to survive with one kidney. In this hard period of my life, my mother decided to call me Gabriel like the guardian of the sky. Then she decided to call me Junian for my second name because it was the name of my father. The story behind that name is that my grandmother wanted to call my dad Julian but in the hospital they made a mistake and call him Junian. My grandmother never changed to the original name. I have two sisters too, one is called Guimazoa and the other one is Rose. The name of Guimazoa was inspired by a character of a novel that my mom loved, and Rose was inspired by the name of my mother. My mother's name is Rosa in English means Rose. Every member of my family loved the name that was given to them. We will never going to change our names. For us, our names have special meanings. I don't know about the others, but for me my name inspires me to continue fighting against the adversities of life.
